The first run came from a Willie Harris error in the first. With Ichiro Suzuki reaching first on a single, Carlos Guillen hit a fly ball to right-center off the heal of Harris' glove, advancing Suzuki to third and Guillen to second.
Two batters later, following a Brett Boone strikeout and Edgar Martinez walk -- loading the bases -- Mike Cameron walked, giving the Mariners a 1-0 lead. Buehrle pitched himself out of the bases-loaded situation with a double play and again the next inning with a fly out.
Greg Colbrunn put the Mariners up 2-1 with a solo home run in the third inning, and two innings later, a homer by Martinez, RBI-double by Randy Winn and RBI-single by Suzuki put the Mariners up 5-1.
Buehrle was relieved by Rick White to start the sixth -- down 5-2, the second run coming off a Frank Thomas home run in the top half of the inning -- who gave up a two-run homer to Mike Cameron. White finished the inning and Dave Sanders came in to throw two scoreless innings.
Jeff Nelson and Kazuhiro Sasaki finished the game for Moyer, who walked three and struck out three in seven innings. Along with Thomas' homer and Graffanino's double, the Sox had one more hit, coming by Carlos Lee (single).
The Sox will have Monday off before hosting the Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday at U.S. Cellular Field. Esteban Loaiza is scheduled to pitch against lefty Omar Daal. Gametime is at 7:05 p.m. CT and will be televised on WCIU.
